Players take on the role of a wanderer in search of a place to call home, exploring a massive open world and encountering other players in a passive multiplayer experience akin to Journey. Combat is based on the “souls” genre of stamina-based combat, with no two gameplay experiences being alike. Players must use their wits to survive hostile enemies and indigenous creatures, and will be rewarded for studying the environment and its inhabitants. Players can also invite survivors to their Town, where they can bring a plethora of crafting skills, from blacksmithing to foraging expertise. The game features a unique narrative and sound crafted by famed fantasy author Mark Lawrence and renowned band Foreign Fields.
