Game Details

This rogue-style role-playing game takes place in the Forgotten Realms year of 1420 DR. Evil wizard Rezlus, a worshipper of the god Bane, and his Zhentarim are trying to invade and conquer the Dalelands. Good Lorin-Aria summons the main characters to protect the Daggerdale from him. Starting on the Daggerdale border in the place known as the Dwarven Mines of Tethyamar, player ventures deep into the territory already controlled by Zhentarim forces, including the Tower of the Void, and comes to the final confrontation with Rezlus himself and his powerful ally.

Inspired by Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes, the game includes both single and co-operative multiplayer modes for up to four players. The main characters, controlled by each player are Halfling Wizard, Human Fighter, Elven Rogue, and Dwarven Cleric. Customization of the characters is provided as player reaches a new level gaining a certain amount of experience. Character progression advances as per a limited set of 4th Edition Dungeons & Dragons rules for both class and race. Advances in clothes and weapons are achieved through equipment looted or bought. First in a planned trilogy, this game is limited by 10 levels cap, and each following game in the series should increase the cap by 10 levels.

Action-oriented gameplay proposes two kinds of attack, defense, and three special powers currently assigned. Player may change the view from third-person perspective to top-down. The mechanics of the game often involve finding a person who gives the characters a quest in a settlement, following quest checkpoints through a hostile territory, and returning to finish the quest. If all characters are killed during a quest, the game progress is rolled back to the point before the quest was taken, but the experience and gold (not the equipment) will be kept.
