Game Details

Swamped for time but jonesing for an adventure? Then crawl into FastCrawl, a desktop adventure that can be casually played within half an hour to an hour depending on your choosing.

When started the game will generate a random dungeon and even a short story that you and, again, a randomly generated party will explore and traverse through. In your path are an array of enemies from simple soldiers to terrifying monsters. Also you may have quests to complete such as rescuing trapped heroes. The characters in your party are typical of role-playing adventures from warriors to magicians.

As you explore these dungeons you will open up rooms in segments. You will be able to see the upcoming segment without stepping into it. This will come in handy as this will allow you to see enemies sitting in an upcoming segment. You can also see which enemies are in this room and choose to enter at your own risk since when entered you will have to engage said enemies. Treasures are also laid out in similar fashion and will also be found on bodies of fallen enemies. Collected items will range from weapons, to armor, to power-ups and simple treasures.

Combat is turn-based and will require you to lay out your enemies in the engagement chart. This six segment grid will allow you to choose the basic stance of your characters and also see the stance of your enemies. Naturally characters with mêlée weapons should be placed in the front-line and characters with ranged weapons or ones who are weakened should be placed at the rear. One other hazard of dungeon exploring, traps, are placed randomly in dungeons as well and will activate when entered. However you can enhance your rouge-ish characters’ skills to see traps coming and disarm them.

As you go up the levels of a dungeon your characters will also level up. Each class of characters can level up and specialize in different ways from combat specifics to enhancing exploring skills. Even though the the whole game is essentially generated and won’t play the same the second time, you can save your progress and continue another time. Beside the length of time that you can adjust for your crawl you may also adjust the difficulty of your journey but thankfully your characters will be generated accordingly to the difficulty you select.
