Game Details

Monster Galaxy is a monster taming game originally dedicated as a Facebook application game.

The player takes on a role as a monster tamer in the land of Sunshine, now overrun by moga. The moga are zodiac-based monsters, each zodiac representing a strength or weakness against the zodiac of other monsters (e.g. a fire sign zodiac moga may be weaker towards a water sign moga). To become a true monster tamer, the player has to defeat wild mogas throughout the land or attempt to capture them. A successfully captured moga may then join the player’s team which may consist up to three mogas during combat and use them to explore the land, complete quests, or defeat and capture other mogas.

Combat

Turn-based combat occurs when the player travels on the overland map, which may entice a random encounter or an automatic combat sequence when the player reaches a destination. The player may bring a maximum of three mogas while travelling. The player will then be prompted to choose one moga from the team, with consideration to the moga’s zodiac compared to the enemy moga’s zodiac. A moga’s whose zodiac sign is stronger unleash stronger zodiac attack (read=special attack) as well as suffer less damage from weaker zodiacs.

Once the player has chosen a moga, the player may opt to choose between a normal attack, a zodiac attack, a special ability, or flee from combat. After combat has initiated, the player may also opt to replace the moga with a fellow moga team mate, though suddenly switching may provoke a free attack from the opponent. Combat ends when the health of an active moga has reached zero, the player captures the enemy moga, or if the player flees combat.

Mogas participating in combat, if they successfully defeat the enemy will gain experience and level up when sufficient experience has been reached, resulting in greater health and stronger special abilities. High level mogas may then (requirement depending) transform into a different and more powerful species of moga.

Capturing Moga

To capture a moga, the player may opt to use a star seed. A percentage indicator will show the player the chances of capturing the moga. If the chances are too low, the player will have to weaken the enemy moga. The lower the health of the enemy moga, the higher the chances of capturing it. Monsters are also divided into different quality classes, ranging from trainer to rare moga. The rarer the moga, the more difficult it will be to capture it. Captured mogas and mogas not brought by the player while travelling will be available in the player’s home. A moga inventory consisting of all mogas the player has collected is also available there for viewing.
