The Executioner is a dark, text-based RPG that puts you in the shoes of a man who tortures people for a living while trying to retain his own sanity. With a predominantly text-based interface unfolding an engaging story, The Executioner promises a dark and unsettling atmosphere, and a world filled with moral ambiguity. Players must seek a signed confession from those they are about to put to death, while navigating a town filled with mysticism built around Medieval artefacts, such as the Hand of Glory and Mandrake Root. With the threat of revolution on the cards, players must decide whether to fight for monarchy and tradition or revolt in the name of progress. They must decide whether to support emerging science or follow the mystical path, and whether to desensitize themselves to the violence they have to inflict or try to preserve their humanity. With a unique perceptive ability making them a walking lie detector, players must also manage their sanity to survive.
