The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a 1998 action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64. It was the first Legend of Zelda game with 3D graphics. It was released in Japan and North America in November 1998 and in PAL regions the following month.
The player controls Link in the land of Hyrule, where he sets out on a quest to stop the evil king Ganondorf from obtaining the Triforce, a sacred relic that grants its wielder unlimited power. Link travels through time as a child and adult, exploring dungeons, learning songs on the Ocarina, and defeating bosses to gather the Sacred Stones and Medallions of the Sages.
Produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and developed by Nintendo EAD, Ocarina of Time is widely considered one of the greatest video games ever made and a landmark of 3D action-adventure design. It was later remastered for the Nintendo 3DS in 2011.
