A Demo of He is Coming is Now on Steam

Publisher Hooded Horse announced that they're joining in the February 2025 edition of Steam Next Fest. What this means is that for those excited about the game He is Coming, they can now enjoy it early through a new demo. The demo is accessible from February 24 to March 3.

The game is set in a world where a long-forgotten enemy rises and brings portents of doom. That's right! The Demon King is coming and with no champion to strike him down, the world is sure to fall to his corruption. To defeat him, players need to look for powerful weapons and artifacts by day and then fight against his minions by night. They'll also need to prepare as they're hunted by powerful entities from ages past in this roguelite role-playing game.

What makes this game a bit different from others is that every three days, a terrifying new minion of the Demon King is drawn from a pool of over 30 potential bosses and starts his hunt. Players need to learn the strengths and unique powers of each monster and with it adapt their build accordingly. They'll also have to explore the realms as they search for weapons and equipment that has a high chance to defeat the powerful predator. Of course, they'll need to be careful especially on creatures that roam by night.

Preparing for the Challenge

When facing the unique challenge of each monstrous boss, players can choose from different strategies and synergies through more than 350 items available. For example, there's the Razorclaw Grizzly, a monster whose attacks ignore all armor. For players, it means they'll have to decide how much armor they have to sacrifice in return for equipment that prioritizes damage, speed, or even maximum health. Meanwhile, the lesser monsters that are stalking the realms are more than happy to go after the unarmored hero. Should the Razorclaw Grizzly be defeated, three days may not be enough for players to get enough armor for the next monster that hunts them. It helps that in place of armor, players can find items that can help enhance their speed or even attack speed.
