A Free Demo of Eastwynne is Now Available in Steam

A free demo of Eastwynne is available over on Steam. This modern fantasy isometric CRPG is set in a city where magic is part of everyday life.

Players take on the role of university students who are suddenly caught up in the world of the magical elite. Each decision and choice made by the players shape the story which means that each player may experience a slightly different story.

In particular, players can choose to be either Ester or Sye. Ester is someone who prefers to spend her days playing video games and if possible, never leaving her room. However, she ends up caught in the affairs of the elites and the state of the world. Meanwhile. Sye is someone who's reserved and wants to spend most of her days reading anything and everything. In the game, playing as one or the other gives a different perspective on the same city especially since the world reacts differently to each of them.

When it comes to gameplay, Eastwynne features turn-based combat combined with a magic system that has specializations, dice rolls, and storylines that can change based on what players actually do. All of these are available in the free demo.

In a statement, developer WTS₂ revealed that a V2.0 update that was released for the Steam Next Fest included a full revamp that brought in the isometric view and made Ester playable. That same update also added the magic system, the first explorable area, and early versions of the relationship and personality systems.

Change the Narrative

As mentioned, one of the key features of the game is how the choices of the players can change the narrative of the game. Basically, outside of choosing specific dialogue, doing things in a different order, or even making a discovery, have an impact when it comes to how the story plays out.

Play Together

The game gives players the option to choose whether to play alone or choose a companion. They can grow their character through skill progression, completing quests, and dice rolls.
