A Free Trial for Dune: Awakening is Now Live

If you're one of those intrigued about Dune: Awakening but not sure if it's for you, then we have great news. Funcom has just released a free trial of the game. Yes it's free! The only catch is you get to play it free for 10 progress.

Now here's the thing about this free trial. The timer only progresses when you're playing. Once you're in, you get to explore the whole Hagga Basin. The only areas not available are Harko Village, Arrakeen, and the Deep Desert.

Of course, whatever progress you make can then be carried over once you buy the game.

Different Serves

Another difference for those who want to experience the free trial is that the free trial characters are played on dedicated Free Trial servers. That means they’ll only encounter other players also on Free Trial. They won’t be able to meet those who bought the game.

However, there is still a way to keep the free trial character after buying the game. They’ll need to select the World and then transfer the character to any server within that World.

Rewards Offered

The Desert Mechanic cosmetic items are unlocked once you buy the game, whether during or after the trial. These cosmetics are also available to existing players at in-game vendors. There’s also a bundle of basic materials available that can help rebuild the base.

Character Progression

Character progress is kept if ever you decide to buy the game. However, there are some things that are transferred and some which are not.

Those that can be transferred from the free trial to the purchased game include the character journey progress, level, skill and tech points. Backpack contents are also transferred.

What is not transferrable though is the base. However, you can blueprint the base so that should be worth noting. Vehicles can’t be transferred as well along with more than 10,000 Solaris.

The free trial offer ends August 24.

Dune: Awakening takes players to an open world and multiplayer survival game on a massive scale.
