A new update for Everwind is currently in the works. The First Ascent is set to expand the world of the game once it goes live. There's a lot of new content arriving with it.
One of the planned additions to the game are the new enemies. The actual number hasn't been revealed but in a post, developer Enjoy Studio offered a peek into some of them. These include the Vespers, Vesper Larvas, Snapblooms and Scorpiors. There's also what's called the X-44R The Scrapper, a neutral monster who roams the Rotten biome. Another one is the Damaged Steamer, which is an enemy that obtained a small rework. Players can also get to see the Capybara Merchant through a rare and secret encounter.
New Items and Tools
There's also a bunch of new items and tools. One of these is the Lantern, which has been a highly requested item. Players can equip these in their off-hand to illuminate the darkness. There are going to be multiple variants available which depends on the materials players use for crafting.
Others include:
- Moisture Collector - A new station for passive water collection.
- Charred Wood - A new type of wood for rafting and building.
- Pirate Furniture Set - A new set of decor inspired by the pirates found at the desert's water level.
New Gear
The upcoming update for Everwind also adds powerful new unique weapons and accessories that have been scattered across the world. Old uniques are still available and had their drop rates adjusted.
Special attire for magic users are also being added and provides powerful modifiers and scales significantly with upgrades.
QoL Changes
Technical changes are also in the works. One of these is the Third Person Perspective Leaning. This new feature lets players lean up or down in third-person view. This should improve aiming at mobs above or below.
Another feature is what's known as Proximity Crafting Management. This lets players toggle specific chests on or off for proximity crafting.
Everwind offers a novel take on the RPG and Sandbox Survival genre by introducing a First-Person-Perspective. Players get to embark on an adventure with friends. They'll need to build a base on a flying island-ship, gather resources, craft, loot, and fight. All of these so that players rise above the clouds to uncover the mysteries of this world. Everwind is available on Steam Early Access.
