Final Fantasy Resonance is officially live. With this, the series officially gets its first ever HD-2D title.
For developer Square Enix, the game is the answer to the question of what would Final Fantasy be if it pushed the limits of pixel art. As a result, Final Fantasy Resonance invites everyone to experience a new adventure that is inspired by this very notion. It features a story that's centered around the crystals in a world where beautifully detailed pixel art and 3D graphics come together.

A Return to the World
Final Fantasy Resonance invites players to return to the pixel‑art world of Final Fantasy but one that's evolved from its classic roots. It's the first in the franchise to be part of the HD-2D lineup as it delivers a visually striking experience that feels both nostalgic and new. This experience is enhanced with the use of dynamic camera angles and pixelized 3D models to make sure that each moment is more dramatic and immersive.
The game offers a classic RPG adventure that unfolds in a world filled with a lot of the Final Fantasy elements that fans have loved. These include airships, crystals, espers and moogles. All of which have been woven into the fabric of the story. Players can exploit enemy weaknesses to break the defenses of enemies and seize extra turns while at the same time gain upper hand through the use of powerful Resonance attacks in cinematic battles shaped by smart choices.
Final Fantasy Resonance is available for the PC via Steam along with consoles PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S.
