Developer Shadowlight Sanctuary has released a new gameplay trailer for Kill the Shadow. This one takes everyone to a deeper dive to the dark world that the game offers.
Indeed, the new trailer shows the gritty streets of Darkwater and see Ah’Guang use his powers of deduction and persuasion to investigate a series of bizarre murders that's been plaguing the city. However, more profound mysteries are revealed instead. The new trailer also gives us a peek into the sinister "Shadow".

Kill the Shadow is a suspenseful and narrative-driven detective role playing game where you get to investigate a series of bizarre murders in different areas of the Darkwater city. These include the missing Master Ruan at the temple fair, the sudden death of Wangcai, the grudges at the Shipwreck, and even the dismembered limbs in the sewers.
Investigating the Murders
To uncover the secrets, you can use different whether it's charm, spirit, or strength. The game also has what's known as the Deduction System where you have to collect, analyze, and then connect related clues in order to come up with your own unique investigation path. Another interesting feature is the "Shadow." This is a strange creature that's attached to you and able to read the memories and reconstruct the traces of the deceased.
Meeting Other Characters
As you move forward with your investigation, you get to meet the different characters in the city. This includes the likes of the energetic girl with a camera, the elderly fish-selling lady, and the elegant Mrs. Ruan. There's even a rumored goddess who is said to be able to cast spells. Be sure to learn their stories.
A Good Mix
The game also makes use of 3D environments and mixes this 2D pixel art characters. This results in a rather unique artistic style that offers a striking contrast between modern visuals and retro aesthetics
There are different and freely explorable scenes to experience like the dilapidated steel forest factory, the muddy shipwreck dock built on water, and bustling old city district. You can even check out the Zhulong Walled City which combines the fictional traditional Ma Island and Imperial culture.
