Action Roguelite Sova to Release on Steam Early Access in 2026

Independent game studio Entropic Island announced that Sova is planned to be released for Early Access on Steam in 2026. This narrative-driven action roguelite features a story that reacts to player decisions and combines it with branching dialogue and fast-paced combat.

Sova is set in a strange and beautiful sci-fi world. Players get to take on the role of the titular Sova as they navigate the ever-shifting landscape of the Conjecture. They fight, explore, and pierce together a story that bends with the decisions of the players. They'll have to find the Constant, write their own past, and forge everyone’s future.

Sova is able to offer a tight and expressive combat and then mix branching narrative systems that's inspired by classic CRPGs. Each run is a chance to craft new builds, uncover hidden lore, and watch the world subtly shift in response to actions made.

Interactive Storytelling

There are a lot of actions that players can perform. For example, they can walk away from conversations or even interrupt characters. They can even punch characters in the face mid-sentence. However, the choices made leave lasting marks. Enemies for instance remember the players and encounters evolve into personal rivalries. Players can forge, and even break, relationships with colorful characters, as choices decide their fate.

Evolving Combat

Combat in Sova is fast, deliberate, and electric. Players can cut through enemies with style and precision as they weave strikes, dodges, and abilities into a rhythm that’s uniquely theirs. Each run is a chance to experiment and express themselves.

Weird World

The world is rich, strange, and beautifully haunting. Explore the shifting landscape, from a sprawling and dying megacity to the vibrant and flowing wastelands, to industrial hellscapes of metal and flesh. Uncover compelling encounters, characters and anomalies.

Indie Studio

Sova is being developed by Entropic Island, a small and independent studio that’s based in Niš, Serbia, and dedicated to narrative-rich and mechanically ambitious games. Its debut title was Lawbringer, a roguelike arena brawler released in 2023. In 2023, the studio received the Creative Europe MEDIA grant for narrative game development.
