Ubisoft announced that Assassin’s Creed Shadows is going to be verified on Steam Deck when it launches March 20. This means that those who use the platform can play the upcoming title.

Initially, there was no plan to offer support for Steam Deck at the start. However, the studio revealed in a post that the development team has managed to make excellent progress. As a result, they were able to make it possible to offer this feature at launch. This should be good news to those who play on Steam Deck, considering that this has been one of the many player requests. Now while the graphical settings are going to be locked at launch, players can select the upscalers they want. More options are planned to be offered in the future.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set in feudal Japan where players get to experience spectacular castle towns, bustling ports, peaceful shrines, and war-ravaged landscapes. It's an adventure that features unpredictable weather, changing seasons, and reactive environments. The game has players take on the role of a shinobi assassin Naoe and a legendary samurai Yasuke. They get to live their riveting stories while also mastering their complementary playstyles. As Naoe for example, they get to use stealth to avoid detection and agility to confuse enemies. Meanwhile when they play as Yasuke, players can strike foes with lethal precision and power.
