It's been more than a week since Baldur's Gate III came out. That may not be much, but it appears to be enough time to see the trend when it comes to the choices of the players. Take the case of race where the top choice is the Half-Elf. Not that surprising when you realize that this race is pretty balanced. Human and Elf races came in second and third, respectively. The least popular meanwhile is the Githyanki.

While it may not be reflective of the characteristics of the players, the top choice for class is the Paladin with more than 200,000 players opting for this class. Second choice is Sorcerer with just under 200,000 players followed by Warlock at about 150,000 players. The least popular was Cleric.

Meet the Characters

Like with most role-playing games, Baldur’s Gate 3 gives players the chance to players a custom or pre-made character. These are called as Origins and come with their own backgrounds. The top choice is Gale, who is seen as a wizard prodigy. Second choice was Karlach followed by Astarion.

Now while most players often begin their first playthrough using a custom character, that wasn’t the case for this game. That’s because only 7% made the decision to start with Origins. The 93% wanted to make their very own character.
