Bladesong Playable Demo is Now on Steam

Developer Sun and Serpent announced that a playable demo for Bladesong is now available on Steam. This marks the first step for players beginning on their journey to be a legendary swordsmith.

In a post, the development team revealed that unlike playtests, a demo can run for a longer period. In addition, a demo has few limitations compared to playtests. For this demo in particular, players can enjoy an hour of the Story Mode content. They get to experience what it means to be a swordsmith who arrives at the gates of Eren Keep. This is one of the last safe havens of mankind and they've been asked to forge blades for the camp.

Players can also access the Creative Mode that brings with it a curated selection of abilities, parts and materials, and a limited number of editable sword slots. This is pretty much a swordmaking sandbox where the forge is for players to enjoy. They can forge unique swords using freeform blade shaping and an intricate modular building system. They can also master the art of smithing to create weapons from any world, from East to West, and history to fantasy.

Early Access

Now the release of a demo means that the path is clear for the game to enter early access. According to the development team, everything is still on track for Bladesong to release in early access by the end of the year. The initial Early Access is going to have a much larger chunk of Story content along with more sword parts. There's also a few more new features that include the much-requested STL export for 3D printing.

More Precious than Gold

Bladesong puts players in the role of the swordsmith of Eren Keep. They're someone able to turn steel into something more precious than gold. Customers come with coin in their hands and demands on their lips as they seek blades of deadly precision, balance, and beauty.
