Ice Quake Studios announced the closed beta for Project S.U.N.D.I.A.L. is now open. This 2D pixel art PvPvE extraction shooter is a game that's inspired by S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Escape from Tarkov.
The game is currently being developed for both single-player and online multiplayer. For this first beta test though, the focus for now is on the single player feature. There is a plan to test online multiplayer in the future. In a post, the studio shared that those who want to participate in the closed beta can request the key through Discord or email them here.
Deal with Hollows
Project S.U.N.D.I.A.L. is a PvPvE extraction shooter where players take on the role of a Contractor who's a member of a Hollow Hunter of Unit 13. The Hollows are as deadly as they are mysterious and hide secrets that many seek to uncover for their own gain. In the game, players need to outsmart not only non-human enemies but also human ones. They have the option to sneak or shoot their way across roaming mutated wildlife, ruthless raiders, or the hollows. Of course, they can also encounter other players in the lawless wastes.
Hardcore Survival Mechanics
One of the features that players need to keep in mind is that the game has what can be described as hardcore survival mechanics. They'll need to endure a true survival challenge with realistic body part damage simulation. For example if they get shot in the leg then they'll be struggling to move or possibly bleed out if they forget their bandages. Meanwhile, head wounds blur vision, cause confusion, or most likely end them on the spot.
Crafting Items
In Project S.U.N.D.I.A.L, crafting is not only deep and flexible but also essential. It’s always possible to ignore it though the question remains on how long players last if they don’t have the needed items. If they’re not satisfied with what they’ve crafted, there’s the option to recycle and recover the materials and then try again.
