Funcom announced that Conan Exiles Enhanced is releasing to consoles. It's going to be available for PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S. This should bring the unique open-world survival experiences to a new generation of players.
The leap to consoles follows the strong demand from the community. The studio shared that existing owners of the game get to receive a free upgrade from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 and from Xbox One to Xbox Series X/S. Making the release even more exciting is that there's going to be full cross-play available at launch.
In a statement, Funcom CEO Scott Junior revealed that they've "heard loud and clear" the request of the console community to experience what the Enhanced version of the game has to offer. He added that with Conan Exiles approaching its 10th anniversary, the upcoming launch for consoles is a milestone not only for the studio but also for the community.
Conan Exiles Enhanced is an open world survival game that's set in the mythical lands of Conan the Barbarian. Players can choose between single-player, co-op, or multiplayer. No matter what mode they select, players have to learn what it means to survive the wilds of Hyboria before building their own home or even a shared city. They'll also try to survive freezing cold temperatures and explore loot-filled dungeons. They can develop the character from scavenging survivor to mighty barbarian and powerful sorcerer.
Conan Exiles Enhanced is an upgrade that moves Conan Exiles into Unreal Engine 5. It unifies eight years of post‑launch content while at the same time give the world of Conan a sweeping visual refresh. Changes include the sharply improved environments, character models, lighting, and effects. There's also the redesigned UI along with numerous QoL upgrades.
One of the key features of Conan Exiles Enhanced is that it allows players to freely travel between The Exiled Lands and The Isle of Siptah. This is because the two massive regions have been integrated and connected which resulted in eliminating the need to choose a map at character creation or start over to explore both. In addition, the multiplayer servers can host both regions simultaneously which should expand the playable space for communities that own the Siptah expansion.
