The territory-conquest simulation RPG Silver Blade of Gods' End is now available on Steam. In celebration of the release, it's being offered at 15% off for a limited time.
The release is the result of seven years of development by a team of two. It's created under the influence of classic simulation RPGs from the late 1990s.
Silver Blade of Gods' End is set on a war torn continent that sees seven nations fight for supremacy. It features a war chronicle scenario that branches into four major storylines. The outcomes of these four scenarios vary depending on the progress and factions of the players. It lets them experience the world’s conflicts from multiple perspectives.
The game has a total text count that exceeds 300,000 characters, offers more than 50 playable characters, and more than 60 stages. Players take on the role of the protagonist named Ainweis and try to expand their influence as they fight along with their comrades across a war-torn continent. On the battlefield, players need to lead their troops into battle. However, when off the battlefield, they need to conquer the continent by predicting enemy invasions and then deploy forces while managing strongholds.
Tactics and Strategy
One way to describe Silver Blade of Gods' End is that it's a territory-conquest SRPG that features tactics and combines it with strategy. It's not just about winning battles but also looking into other factors where strategy takes the whole continent into account. As military commanders, it's up to the players to shape the course of the war.
Meanwhile, when it comes to the combat system, it's one that puts focus on tempo. The "Combat Chain System" lets players take an additional turn by exploiting enemy weaknesses. Then there's the "Squad System" where defeating a squad leader results in the entire unit retreating. In a statement, the development team revealed that the reason for this was to make sure that battles offered "a smooth and enjoyable experience."
It’s worth noting that under certain conditions within the story, special battles can involve giant robots and even colossal statues. It’s basically a grand conflict that goes far beyond mere warfare between humans awaits the player.
