Shiro Games announced that the Contract: Fires in the Capital DLC for Wartales is now available on both Xbox One and the Xbox Series X/S. It invites everyone to the city and strike at the heart of the Empire.
This latest DLC has players chart a course to the heart of the Empire, which is none other than the glorious city of Isandrin. It's now under the control of the new leader General Maxime, who has introduced sweeping reforms in the city. However, it has resulted in the capital being thrown into unrest with tensions between rival factions reaching a boiling point. It's now up to the players to work on restoring order as chaos spreads across the streets of Isandrin.
Players need to track ruthless brigands, tear down propaganda posters, and gambol through districts as traveling bards to influence the population. They'll have to quell riots started by unruly citizens and calm residents to restore thriving trade. Each action the warband takes in Isandrin has rippling effects as it changes the flow of commerce and the stability of districts.
However when diplomacy fails, players can take to the streets in urban combat scenarios shaped by the surging havoc. They can chase down fleeing criminals before they can escape and destabilize neighborhoods, escort vulnerable convoys of crucial goods through burning streets, and rescue civilians trapped by violence and destruction.
Talking about this DLC, Game Director Quentin Lapeyre shared that Contract: Fires in the Capital is unlike any other in Wartales. He added that the expansion puts players in unfamiliar territory where society watches their every move and responds accordingly.
The Contract: Fires in the Capital DLC is available on Xbox consoles along with the PC via Steam and GOG. It is priced at $12.99. For those who want to start their adventure, the Wartales Starter Edition is available on Xbox for $59.99 and comes with the base game and two major DLC expansions.
