Crown Gambit is Coming to Steam Next Year

The narrative adventure card-game Crown Gambit is set to be released for the PC via Steam. The game is being developed by French studio Wild Wits and to be published by Playdigious Originals. It's coming out sometime in 2025. This update follows a successful Kickstarter campaign where more than $30,000 was raised.

Crown Gambit is a tactical narrative game that introduces players to a chaotic capital where they have to prevent the downfall of the realm. In this mysterious dark-fantasy universe that's inspired by Celtic and Breton folklore, players get to use the skills of three intrepid paladins as they try to overcome political turmoil. There's the blood-bending swashbuckler Aliza along with the mace-wielding cleric Hael and anchor-waving tanker Rollo.

Talking about the paladins, it’s important to keep in mind on properly building the deck of each of them. Be sure to have that well-oiled united team fighting against enemies and make each blow count.

The game features board-shattering card battles and combines it with deck-building mechanics while at the same time adding in a strong narrative, storytelling and multiple endings. Players get interact with a wide cast of fascinating characters and have to make difficult decisions to reveal all their secrets.

In a statement, Wild Wits Artistic Director Gobert revealed in a statement that they're excited to finally show what they've done to the world. He added that the game gave him that unique chance to prove himself and use his talents for an ambitious project. Meanwhile, studio president Corto Laly shared that the game is one that's close to their hearts and it offers a story that they're really proud of. He added that Gobert's art style makes sure that the universe is brought to life.
