Developer Sword & Axe announced that Dark Deity 2 is launching to the Nintendo Switch on September 4. Pre-orders are now available on the Nintendo eShop.
Dark Deity 2 was released for the PC via Steam early this year. Currently it has a Very Positive rating on Steam. The upcoming release for the Switch marks that game's official debut on consoles. The Switch version in particular preserves everything players love on PC, including the enhanced ability system, flexible class design, and extensive campaign customization suite.
The game is a sequel to Dark Deity, released back in June 2021. Dark Deity 2 is set 25 years after the first one. Irving and the Eternal Order have managed to carefully rebuild Verroa in order to protect it against a future war. However, their efforts are going to be put to the test far too as a new threat looms on the horizon. It appears that the neighboring Holy Asverellian Empire is looking for new lands to grow and for them, the fractious and fragile Verroa looks to be ripe for the taking. The only thing that stands in their way is the Order and twenty scrappy heroes-to-be.
Dark Deity 2 gives players the responsibility of leading the Eternal Delegation. Meanwhile, Gwyn and Riordian have realized that they'll need to navigate the treacherous politics of Verroa as they weave a web of alliances to turn the tide of the coming war. The decisions of the players not only define their army but even determine the shape of the alliances. What makes things interesting is that with the giant pool of customizations, plates are guaranteed that no two playthroughs are the same.
At the heart of the game is the turn-based tactical combat. The 20 heroes available have access to 45 branching classes. Each one brings with them their own powerful abilities, passive effects, and their own tactical niche. Players won't be limited to that since they can start experimenting with skills, abilities, and gear. These can completely change the way a unit performs in the field and upend tactics, though in a good way.
