Developer Miyoshi Shizuka announced that a free demo of Patricide is now available on Steam. This 3D adventure RPG is set in present-day Japan and is all about the love and hatred of girls who killed their fathers.
The demo in particular follows the story of one of the game's protagonists, Tsubaki. On the night of a summer festival Tsubaki attended with her parents, she is beaten by her father and left severely injured. When she wakes in the hospital, what awaits her is a trauma that never fully heals. Then there's the meeting with the only doctor she can open her heart to. Then when Tsubaki is reunited with her father, she learns why he turned violent.
The demo offers play time of around one hour. Players can experience the summer festival and all the way to the hospital
Emotion System
One of the defining features of the Patricide is its Emotion System. It has players reach into the heart of an opponent. You see, rather than fighting head-on, players can weaken enemies by simply empathizing with them and swing the battle in their favor. Once Tsubaki succeeds in empathizing, she can then captivate her opponent with her beauty and can turn them against their own allies.
Exploration & Growth
Patricide has players explore the town and its facilities. They’ll need to find items and equipment while at the same time uncover the mysteries hidden behind the story. As the story moves forward, new Emotions become available with each level-up unlocking a special ability. Ultimately, battles blend action with turn-based play and leave room for players to find their own approach.
Cutscenes
By the way when it comes to the Story Mode, players are sure to love the , meticulous camerawork and synchronized text which dynamically convey the characters' conflicts and tension. Meanwhile for Battle Mode, triggering special moves unlocks stylish cut-in animations. Regardless, both story and combat deliver a deeply immersive experience.
