Werewolves Malice announced that a free demo of its upcoming title Werewolf: The Gloaming Malice is now on Steam. This single-player mystery game is centered around interactive novel elements.

In particular, players take on the role of a hunter who has been trapped in the "Shadow Fortress." To survive, they'll need to uncover the hidden werewolf and defeat it. As they explore the castle for clues and items, along with interacting with other trapped villagers, they'll eventually uncover the truth.

Throughout the game, players face several critical choices. To sharpen their senses and uncover every trace of evidence, they'll need to make use of "Search Mode." When combined with the interactions made with the villagers, each piece of information results in a weapon that can expose lies. It's important to remember that intelligence won't be enough when it comes to confronting the werewolf. Instead, players need to collect items that are scattered across the castle and then make use of them as weapons to fight back.

Free Demo

The free demo of Werewolf: The Gloaming Malice has players experience the game in full flow. It includes, for example, the conversations players have with villagers to get to know those trapped alongside them. They can also hunt for pre-implemented items, experiment with the crafting system, and of course, face off against the werewolf. In the game, battles are presented in two different forms of mini-games, with two separate items triggering them.

In a statement, the development team revealed that the full version is planned to feature even more expansive content. These include new unlockable items and deeper character backstories. In addition, the full version is also set to have a custom game mode. That means players can freely set the number of werewolves, difficulty of the minigames, and base trust level of the characters. This ensures each night in the castle is filled with unknown terrors and variables.

So far no release date has been announced for the game. That means all players have for now is the free demo. While waiting, they can wishlist Werewolf: The Gloaming Malice on Steam.
