Arc System Works America has released Demons’ Night Fever. It’s now available on PC and consoles, priced at $39.99. The game is best described as an unconventional stat-raising strategy RPG which puts focus on the concept of “enjoying evil.”
Demons’ Night Fever is Produced by Sohei Niikawa and developed by SuperNiche and Drecom, It offers classic grid-based tactical combat though it’s able to shatter conventions with its dark comedy through some interesting mechanics.
The game tells the story of another Earth, one that’s different from the one we live on. It appears that the most wicked Devil of all Giga Super Death is just a step away from killing God. However, he is suddenly transformed into a helpless baby. The thing is, it seems that Giga Super Death has been anticipating such a crisis. He has been working on what’s known as the Demons’ Night Fever resurrection program and it seems that the time has come to activate it.
This suspicious ritual has managed to ensnare one Killshiro Katanaka, a gloomy young man who despises the world. As a result of their aligned interestings, a bizarre pact was formed.
Interesting Features
The game invites players to enjoy a rather dark and exhilarating strategic battle unlike anything they’ve experienced before. That’s because the game has some rather interesting features. One of these is the Peon Exploitation System. How it works is that players can sacrifice their allied Peon and have them blow up during battle. Then there’s the Perverse Points system. This one has players earn points through misdeeds and then build their very own evil army. Basically, the more evil deeds are committed, the stronger they become.
In a post, Producer Sohei Niikawa shared that the title is finally out after four years of going independent. He added that he has worked on different Strategy RPGs but this one is one that "completely obliterates" the standard conventions. Meanwhile, Character Designer Yuji Himukai said that he wanted to make sure that players won't worry about anything too complicated and would be able to enjoy playing the game until the end because the characters were cute.
Demons’ Night Fever is available for the PC via Steam along with consoles PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch.
