Game developer Dream Dock announced that it has entered into an agreement for Digital Vortex Entertainment to publish DREADMOOR. The title is a Lovecraftian fishing adventure that’s set in a post-nuclear apocalypse world.
It was back in April of this year when the studio first announced DREADMOOR. Then 10 days after that reveal, the game had gotten more than 40,000 wishlists. Despite minimal marketing, the game has been ranked in the top 600 most-wishlisted games on Steam. This strong interest has resulted in a positive trajectory for the title.
The game is inspired from various titles like DREDGE, Metro Exodus, and even Resident Evil. It features cinematic storytelling, psychological tension, crafting, and addictive fishing mechanics.
DREADMOOR is a dark first-person horror fishing adventure game where players get to explore both land and sea. They get to fish for a wide range of aquatic creatures lurking in the depths. In addition, players also have to fight their way across a flooded wasteland filled with danger and mystery.
Exploring Forgotten Lands
Players take the helm of a fishing trawler and enter a world that's full of submerged islands and ruins of a forgotten civilization. They have a long and challenging journey across the Submerged Land. Players have to catch fish, sell their yield to survivors, upgrade their ship, build equipment, and manage their inventory.
There are more than 100 species of dangerous and rare prey. Players need to look for the best fishing spots, experiment with baits, and compete with nature. It's important to remember that the deeper and more dangerous the creature is, the higher price is given by the mysterious traders who keep their secrets.
In a statement, Dream Dock Studio CEO Rostislav Fedorov shared that they’re “building an IP” and by partnering with Digital Vortex Entertainment they’d not only be able to refine the vision they have but also scale production. It should introduce the title to a global audience.
Meanwhile, Digital Vortex Entertainment CEO Alex Izotov revealed that they were captivated with what Dream Dock had planned for the game as well as their approach for a Lovecraftian horror-inspired title combined with post-nuclear survival.
DREADMOOR is releasing in the fourth quarter of 2026. Wishlist the game on Steam.
