Feeble Minds announced that Serpent's Gaze is now available in Early Access. The game features punishing co-op third-person action and combines it with the creeping build-creation of roguelikes.
The game is priced at $14.99 and currently offered at a 10% launch discount. A Supporters Pack DLC is also available and gives players some extra support during the Early Access journey. This one is priced at $3.99.
Serpent's Gaze has players take on the role of a scion who have been given life by the withering tree god Magnolia. Their sole purpose is to defeat the opposing gods and usurpers who currently rule the lands. They'll need to learn more about the secrets of the desert and the truth behind their patron through a story that subtly unfolds as they play. The thing is, the only way to make the desert bloom again is via violence.
Players obtain blessings from deities along with gifts from their patron and strange relics. They can use these in their adventure as they have unique builds on each run. Players can create a character that thrives on quick kills thanks to Aspect of the Plague, which gives temporary stat points every time they kill an enemy. These can then be supplemented with blessings that increase the duration of buffs and upgrades that scale with stats. There's also the option to wear the Aspect of the Bold to gain damage for each point of health missing to start building a character made for revenge.
A key feature of the game are handcrafted levels that have no procedural generation. Every run remains unique thanks to a "Curse" system that applies stacking difficulty modifiers to the runs.
In a statement, Feeble Minds CEO Jannik Reuterberg shared that they’re excited for players to be part of the game world. Reuterberg went on to say that they’ll continue to improve the game with the community.
