Dodging is the Name of the Game as The Entrance is Now on Steam

Developer Shukurimu announced that The Entrance is now available on Steam. This dodge-focused 2D action game puts players in the role of someone who's been banished from heaven and now has to fight across various intense encounters on a journey to return there.

High-difficulty Design

In the game, most enemy attacks come from all directions and deal heavy damage. That means a single moment of carelessness can easily result in a game over. In addition, there are no healing elements during combat which allow for a consistently tense experience. With the exception of the first three stages, each stage is so challenging that in a statement, the developer shared that players may need "several hours to clear them."

Unique Gameplay System

The game is mainly about dodging and to make sure that players focus on evasion, no attack actions are available. That doesn't mean there are no enemies since the objective of each stage is to defeat them. What makes the game different is that enemies have their own "health gauge" and this is consumed each time they perform an attack. Once the gauge reaches zero, the enemy is defeated.

Quick Retry System

Once the game is done, players can instantly retry with the press of a single button. Since combat is the core appeal of this game, it has been designed to minimize stress outside of battles and encourage players to keep trying.

Various Features

The Entrance has stages that feature different unique mechanics. These include the likes of breaking floors, gravity restrictions, time reversal, time skipping, and shrinking arenas. There are also many attacks that, according to the studio, are difficult to fully describe in words. Overall, each stage offers distinct characteristics to ensure that each gameplay is fresh and engaging.
