Looks like the hype for Dragon Age: The Veilguard just got even higher. This time, Electronic Arts and BioWare announced that none other than two-time Oscar-winner Hans Zimmer is working on the Official Soundtrack. That’s not all since serving as co-composer is Grammy-winner Lorne Balfe.

For those familiar with these two legendary composers, it may not come as much of a surprise considering that they’ve collaborated on a lot of projects. For this upcoming game, the two worked with the development team to come up with a score that celebrates the world of Thedas and its heroes.

While the game is set to come out on October 31, they can pre-order the Official Soundtrack album as early as October 18 on Amazon Music and iTunes. The album itself release November 1and available on major music services.

In a statement, the game’s Audio Director Cody Behiel revealed that when it came to the music, one of the goals was to have something that provided “a strong anchor” between Thedas and the diverse characters in that world. He went on to say that they wanted to make sure that as players go through the story, they get to feel that their actions are able to “connect to the personal relationships.”

Meanwhile, Hans Zimmer shared that epic stories typically lend themselves to epic scores. For Zimmer, the narrative tapestry that has been woven into the game never left him wanting for inspiration. He went on to say that he’s proud to have been part of the journey of creating the musical backdrop.

Lorne Balfe on the other hand said that making the score with Zimmer has allowed them to introduce “an epic new majesty” to the world of Themas by bringing the characters and their stories all the way to the next level. He added that he’s excited for players to try the game.
