Dragon Age: The Veilguard took home the Game of the Year award at the Gayming Awards 2025. That's not all since this immersive single-player RPG was also named as having the Best LGBTQ+ Character for Rook.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is set in the world of Thedas. This vibrant land features rugged wilderness, treacherous labyrinths, and glittering cities. However, a pair of corrupt ancient gods have broken free from centuries of darkness and are now hellbent on destroying the world. Hope now lies in the newest hero, Rook. Dragon Age: The Veilguard is available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. For the PC, it's available through Steam.
Gayming Icon
In addition to Game of the Year, another highlight of the show was Rebecca Heineman being named as Gayming Icon Award in recognition of the contribution to the LGBTQ community within game development and esports.
There were also four streamers inducted into the Rising Star Class. The streamers were chosen by the Gayming Ambassadors to join this prestigious class due to having "made incredible strides in their streaming career over the last year and have made significant contributions to the LGBTQ+ world within the gaming space."

2025 Gayming Awards
This year, the Gayming Awards were full of surprises and laughs. There were impactful speeches as the winners showed everyone why they deserved the award. Serving as hosts were DEERE and MiladyConfetti. Joining them was Morgan McMichaels, star of RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 2 and RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars 3. McMichaels in particular gave a lesson in reading to help everyone develop new and shady ways to read their fellow gamers in chat.
