Dress Up for Halloween in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2

A free update has been released Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. It may not be that big but it's something that players are sure to enjoy. Patch 1.0.2 is called the "Halloween Update" and brings with it 24 new ways to customize their look. There are 8 new hairstyles, 8 makeup styles, and 8 eye colors.

Of course, it's not all cosmetics. That's because arriving alongside the spooky update are more quality-of-life improvements. The Chinese Room revealed in a post that they'll continue to release regular updates and patches across 2025 and into 2026. Future features being worked on include a FOV slider and new save game options. Players can also look forward to custom difficulty settings that include the ability to play only Phyre’s side of the story on the second playthrough.

That said, the studio said that for those who still experience bugs, they can complete the bug report form. Check out the complete changelog for Patch 1.0.2 here.

In Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, players get to take on the role of Phyre and choose to be part of one of six clans which are the Brujah, Tremere, Banu Haqim, Ventrue, Lasombra, and Toreador. The choice of clan is important since one of the key features of the game is Feeding. What it does is strengthen the abilities of Phyre which is based on the nature of the clan that's chosen. There are also other abilities that players can access like Telekinesis, which allow them to distract enemies by lifting and throwing objects. They can also use these to pull enemies closed and deliver the final blow. Heightened Senses meanwhile allows players to see things which others can’t see or even hear.

The clan choice also supports different playstyles. For example, they can choose to join a clan where members prefer close combat using supernatural strength. They can also be part of those who attack from a distance with blood sorcery or maybe silently thin the herd like an apex predator.
