Dying Light Celebrates a Decade of Survival Horror

It has been ten years since players were introduced to Dying Light. When it was released, it changed the open world survival horror genre. In addition, the game has seen its community grow to more than 45 million players.

To celebrate 10 years of zombie slaying, parkour moves and succumbing to the night, developer Techland has come out with a special Dying Light 10th Anniversary - Community Rewind video. While short, the video shows some major numbers from the history of the franchise. You can watch the video here.

Updates Coming

This being a big milestone, that's not the only thing happening. Free updates are coming to Dying Light and players can look forward to seeing the return of some events along with new rewards added. The updates to be released are aimed at helping enhance the game like improving the visual quality and getting a remastered soundtrack.

Updates are also planned for Dying Light 2: Stay Human that sees further prologue changes along with permanent release of Tower Raid, the co-op focused roguelite mode.

Time to Celebrate

During anniversary celebrations, players can claim a free package on Dying Light. For those who haven't started on the game, this is a good time to join. After all, Dying Light is being offered at 70% on Steam until February 11.

Players can also get their hands on the Dying Light: Definitive 10th Anniversary Edition, which is being offered at 85% for a limited period. Aside from the Dying Light full game, it also comes with:

  • Dying Light: The Following – a huge expansion complete with a new story, vast original map, and a customizable buggy to drive.
  • Dying Light: Bozak Horde – a challenging game mode with its own side story.
  • Cuisine & Cargo – two additional quarantine zones.
