One of the things that can happen when you boast of being good in a game is that a lot of players are sure to check if that's indeed true. That's exactly what happened with Elon Musk. Now to be fair, there's no question that Musk is a gamer. What is being questioned though is if he is really that good, particularly in Path of Exile 2.
It all started when Musk had a live stream showing his hardcore character in Path of Exile 2. Now at first glance, it may look as if everything is in order. However, for veteran players there were a lot of red flags. This issue was first brought to the forefront by expert Path of Exile 2 player Quin69. According to various reports, Quin69 looked at how Musk played the game as it appeared that he had no idea on how the game worked. This sentiment was later echoed by none other than Asmongold.
Paul Tassi of Forbes also watched Musk's live stream and some of his observations include the billionaire repeatedly clicking on a map node that wasn't "clickable." It also appeared Musk had a full inventory but most of it were "trash" items.
What does it all mean? The only conclusion according to gamers was that Musk was using a "boosted" account. Basically, he used an account that was being shared with another player who probably was the one actually playing. Indeed, Asmongold even went as far to say that Musk either had somebody play the game for him or bought the account.
