The wait is finally over as Duel Corp is now officially available in Early Access on Steam. This souls-inspired action RPG is set in a sandbox open world that offers an MMO feel and challenging directional combat.
In a post, Dreameffect Entertainment announced that the game is being offered at a 20% launch discount for a limited period. The studio went on to say in a statement that this release serves as the "culmination of years of hard work." They shared further that they're humbled by the support with the game reaching more than 240,000 wishlists.
In Duel Corp, players can look forward to a story that isn't told in a linear fashion. They get to experience it naturally as they explore the world, interact with factions, and discover their secrets. The main plot revolves around an event that has darkened everyone's eyes. This event had two far-reaching consequences which is all living beings a cursed immortality and resurrected the dead as soulless beings. Because of this, the world has been fragmented into factions where each one has its own ideology on how to deal with this new reality.
There are those who look to restore the natural order at any cost. Then there are those who believe this state of affairs is a form of evolution or a blessing though they now struggle to control the relentless threat posed by the soulless. Meanwhile, others are looking for ways to coexist with or even control the soulless since they view them as a resource instead of an abomination.
Character Customization
The game has players use a character editor to customize the appearance of their avatar to their liking. The game also features an unrestricted Class System. They can craft a deep and fully customizable class through a wide range of weapons, armor, abilities, and talents, all customized to their playstyle. For example, a stealthy rogue can wield a great axe and even launch fireballs.
Modes Available
The game has gives everyone the option to play solo with up to three companions or in co-op mode with up to four players. With this, they can build friendships with companions, customize their equipment and skills, and customize their playstyle to suit the strategy.
There's also a multiplayer option where they can easily participate in co-op quests for up to four players or competitive PvP battles (1v1 and 2v2). The matchmaking feature lets players jump right into the action.
