Lay of the Land is now available on Steam. This sandbox adventure game is set in a fantasy world where everything is physically simulated. Players embark on a journey across a dangerous and mysterious world where fires spread and burn, sand collapses, water flows, and pockets of gas suffocate.

Explore the World

Lay of the Land has a lot of interesting biomes that's filled with unique locations and wildlife. Players explore overgrown ruins or possibly take on a deadly temple to find the treasure hidden within. They get to descend on those winding caverns or ascend up jagged mountains to uncover the secrets just beyond the ridge.

The procedural world generation makes use of a layered simulations to come up with those interesting and natural landscapes to make sure that each world has that hand designed feel. For example, water carves channels through valleys while roads wind their way through the terrain.

Build System

One key feature of the game is the voxel based building system where players can build anything their heart desires. These include humble cottages and all the way to majestic castles. They can bring ideas to life through a wide range of procedural tools and decorative elements.

Then there's the procedural shape system that goes far beyond simple square walls and roofs. Players can effortlessly create circular structures with the cylinder tool and atop them with sloped roofs using the cone tool. They naturally raise/lower the terrain with terrain sculpting tools or construct paths by simply drawing directly onto the ground.

Finally, players can enhance their creations with a wide variety of prefabs that include windows, fences, and slopes, to name a few. They can design and create their own custom prefabs to quickly duplicate decorations or even entire structures with ease. Decorate with an assortment of furnishings such as tables, chairs, shelves and more.
