Good news to those excited to start their adventure in Avowed. Advanced Access to the game is now live and gives those who have access the chance to experience the game early. The game itself launches on February 18.
Advanced Access is available to those who bought the Premium Edition or upgraded with the Avowed Premium Upgrade Addon. For those who have the Standard Edition and want to join Advanced Access, they can upgrade to the Premium Edition and start playing immediately.
Priced at $89.99, the Premium Edition doesn't just offer Advanced Access. There are also other bonuses like the Eora Collection Set and the Obsidian Collection Set, which feature unique armor for both players and their companions. It also comes with the Digital Artbook and Soundtrack, which is sure to heighten the experience even more.
Now for those who have the Standard Edition and want to upgrade to Premium during the Advanced Access time, developer Obsidian Entertainment revealed in a post that they'll need to refund their Standard Edition and then buy the Premium Edition to receive all the bonuses that come with it. Once the Advance Access period is done, the studio is going to offer a Premium Upgrade package to purchase for those who like the different armor sets and the Digital Artbook and Soundtrack.
Avowed is set in the fictional world of Eora, first introduced in the Pillars of Eternity franchise. The game invites players to Living Lands, an island where the air hums with ancient magic and the flora seems to move with a mind of its own. It’s also a place where the ground shifts with secrets waiting to be unearthed. However, the Living Lands are now facing a dire threat which is a mysterious plague that defies nature and reason, spreading chaos across its sprawling wilderness.
Players take on the role of an envoy of Aedyr sent to investigate. However, what starts as a mission of duty soon becomes deeply personal as it appears that the land recognizes them and is pulling them toward something greater. The choices players make ripples across the Living Lands, shaping the fates of its people, its creatures, and even the players themselves. It’s important to remember that each decision carries weight and the forces encountered won’t hesitate to test the resolve of players.
