The turn-based sci-fi RPG Dark Sky is set to come out in the third quarter of 2024. It's going to be available for the PC through Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG. Originally titled as Xenotheriait's being developed by Ganymede Games and now published by Midwest Games.

If you’re excited for the game but the release date seems a bit far, not to worry. A demo of the game is set to be available during the Steam Deckbuilders Fest which runs from March 25 to April 1. While this may be the debut game from Ganymede Games, the studio has revealed that it's just going to be an initial chapter in a larger narrative universe.

Dark Sky is set in the mining planet of Wolf Prime. This once peaceful planet suddenly experiences devastation resulting from the appearance of a mysterious force which pulls all spacecraft from the sky. It's now up to shipyard workers Squig and Norton to learn more about the truth underneath all the rubble.

In terms of gameplay, players get to take on enemies in strategic and party-centric card battles. They get to create their very own fully customized decks that's been tailored to each of the six playable characters. They can combine cards to deal debilitating status effects to overpower enemies. Players can also craft and upgrade new cards in order to unlock powerful abilities like burning lasers and poison darts.

As players get to experience the colorful hand-painted environments, they also engage with the different opposing factions on the planet like the Outworld Collective Fleet, the Mining Guild, and the Runshaka death cult.

Talking about this game. Midwest Games CEO and Founder Ben Kvalo shared that the team behind the game has managed to bring together impressive talent which shows in every aspect of the game. Meanwhile for Ganymede Games CEO and Co-founder Jerry Prochazka, he revealed that their partnership with Midwest serves as a new chapter in their quest to come up with games that not only entertain and inspire but also push the boundaries of what is possible when it comes to the gaming world.
