Developer ONYXPRISM announced that a demo for its upcoming title HYPERxFANTASY is now available for the PC via Steam. This surreal RPG offers a narrative that's inspired by Nier:Automata and combines it with the bold visuals of Blade Runner.
The studio revealed that the game is inspired by other video games. For example, it features an experimental narrative experience along with dynamic exploration and clearly inspired from the rich storytelling of Baldur's Gate 3 and even the Mass Effect series. However, the game does it on a more intimate scale.
That's not all since the dystopian megastructure present in the game is sure to bring to mind titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring. Meanwhile, the existential themes are reminiscent of games like Nier Automata/Replicant and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The game's narrative has players explore what can be described as concepts of identity and evolution and does it by focusing on personal discovery. If that sounds familiar, that's because it is what players have experienced with Black Myth: Wukong and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
Finally, there's the branching dialogue and carefully crafted combat that allows the game to have that compact yet engaging experience. It's something that fans of choice-driven RPGs are sure to appreciate.

It's something that's full of ominous monoliths and an eerie atmosphere.
