Archetype Entertainment released an Extended Gameplay Reveal for EXODUS. It offers what may be the most comprehensive look at the game so far.
EXODUS focuses on the journey of Jun Aslan across the Centauri Cluster. He's a scrappy salvager who's now become a Traveler. He gets pulled into the fight of his life as he leads a crew of unforgettable companions across the most dangerous reaches of space. They explore ancient ruins for what could save their homeworld from the Rot, a Celestial virus driving humanity toward extinction.
Customize Your Way
In the video, we get to see that players can customize Jun as either a male or female Traveler. They can choose the look, gear, and morality alignment to shape how the galaxy sees them and responds to them.
Morality Alignments
The video also reveals to players how the Paladin and Immortal alignments shape Jun’s journey. Paladin is the path of virtue and is all about making choices that prioritize others, even when it costs them. Immortal meanwhile is the path of ambition and it's about seizing power and opportunity when it serves their goals.
However, the decisions to be made aren't always black and white. There are cases when players have to face morally gray choices where the answer isn’t clear. These moments happen throughout the game like in regular conversations with companions, in smaller interactions, and in major pivotal story beats.
The alignment chosen ties directly to progression. The path chosen affects which abilities players can upgrade and how their powers evolve.
Traveler Tech
Shown as well are the Recycler and Gauntlet in action. These are tools built for combat, traversal, and exploration, to name a few.
The Recycler shifts between different modes. The Repeater mode is for steady mid-range fire, Shredder mode for close-quarters impact, and Piercer mode for even longer-range precision attacks. There's even the Bomber mode that launches grenades along with Specter mode for precision shots while in stealth.
Meanwhile, the Gauntlet can be upgraded as players salvage alien tech. They can unlock abilities like Eruption for launching enemies and shaping livestone terrain. There's the Lance for piercing strikes and clearing bramble left by the Rot. Finally, the Railclaw gives players vertical mobility across hostile terrain.
