Fantasy Waifu Collector Demo Now Available on Steam

Developer Alex "SyKoHPaTh" Beck announced that a demo of Fantasy Waifu Collector is arriving on Steam this September 8. It's going to bring with it a lot of new features.

In a post, Beck shared that when it came to the demo, he thought hard on what the "core" of the game is going to be. He asked around for some input and it seems that a lot of the ideas had the game being "centered around the minigames." He shared that as he worked on the demo, some aspects of the main game were also changed. Here's what the upcoming demo offers:

Offline Only

Townbuilder: Level 2 maximum building upgrade (out of 7)

Barracks: Maximum 71 Waifus

Warehouse: Maximum 299999 item quantities

Story Progress: up to Slime Boss ("Rank 2 License")

Weapon System Changes

Beck also shared some of the work done on the game's weapon system. He revealed that initially, all weapons were set to have random behaviors. Initially it worked but it eventually weapons being the "same." Pierce and Bounce for example felt different during the early rounds but at the later rounds had that same "large bouncing projectile." The only difference was the sprite of the weapon itself.

As a result, Beck said he overhauled the weapon and behavior system. The Waifus now target the nearest monster and the behaviors being tied to the weapon itself. There's still some tweaks needed but he shared that it's now "shaping up to be a better system."

Fantasy Waifu Collector is a game where players collect “Waifu” in order to build an army to defeat the Demon King. They can recruit a lot of different characters as they explore a fascinating world filled with monsters.

The game offers players an amazing amount of Waifu to collect. The thing is, even the "worst" Waifu can be leveled up, trained, and then equipped to compete with the "best." There's also visually robust characters available with mix-and-match clothing. That means a simple T-Shirt can be enhanced as strong as Plate armor.
