Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Coming to the PC in January 23

It was back in February of this year when Final Fantasy VII Rebirth released for the PlayStation 5. The good news is that the game is getting a PC release with a launch scheduled on January 23, 2025. This particular version introduces players to new features and customizations which take full advantage of the platform.

Take the game's lighting for example. It's been adjusted resulting in the overall rendering of light being significantly improved. In addition, the updated areas and cutscenes present now offer even greater beauty and clarity than before. Another feature is the NVIDIA DLSS support for the PC version. What this means is that the frame rates are enhanced with the image quality upscaled. There's also now support for variable refresh rate (VRR).

Textures

Players should be happy to know that the Level of Detail (LoD) when it comes to background models can be freely configured in the options settings. The same is true in the case of the MIP maps for background textures. Since the background polygon density and texture density can be set higher than was previously possible, it means players can experience gameplay with higher-quality graphics.

Input Support

For those who want to have the same controls as the PS5 but with the experience of the PC, they can use a DualSense controller. Of course, keyboard and mouse support has been added along with the option to be able to freely customize the controls between world exploration and combat or mini-games.

For those wondering, the version releasing for Steam is planned to be playable on Steam Deck.
