Good news for fans of Final Fantasy! Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XVI is finally coming to the PC. It's releasing on September 17 and to be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

As if that's not enough excitement, it's also been revealed that a demo of the game is now accessible free on both Steam and the Epic Games Store. This comes with the opening prologue of the game during Clive’s adolescence. It also includes the special "Eikonic Challenge" Mode where players get to enjoy even more frenetic fights and access to even more Eikonic Abilities in battle. In addition, there's going to be more than two hours of content with the save data being carried to the full game at launch.

Pre-Purchase Now

While the release is still weeks away, fans now pre-purchase the Standard Edition of the game. There's also the Complete Edition which has the base game along with the "Echoes of the Fallen" and "The Rising Tide" DLCs. Of course, players also have the option to buy the DLC chapters individually or the two of them through the Expansion Pass at launch.

By the way, those who pre-purchase the game gets to receive in-game DLC items that include the Brave Blade Weapon, Cait Sith Charm (Gil Boost Accessory), and the "Sixteen Bells" Orchestrion Roll.

A New Adventure

Final Fantasy XVI introduces players to an original standalone story that’s set in the Final Fantasy universe. This epic dark fantasy takes place in the realm of Valisthea. It’s a land that’s been blessed in the light of the Mothercrystals but the peace it has experienced until now has started to falter with the spread of the Blight. The fate of the land is now up to the mighty summoned beasts Eikons along with the Dominants, men and women who are been blessed with the ability to call upon and wield them.

The game follows the story of Clive Rosfield, a warrior given the title “First Shield of Rosaria.” He has sworn to protect his younger brother Joshua, the Dominant of the Phoenix, Eikon of Fire. However, Clive is eventually caught up in a great tragedy and swears revenge on the Dark Eikon known as Ifrit, a mysterious entity that brings calamity in its wake.
