First Major Update for The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin Sees The Lion Sin of Pride

The first major update for The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin and brings with great power. That's because it introduces to the game none other than Escanor.

Considered as one of the most iconic and powerful characters of the series, the Lion Sin of Pride joins the game as its newest playable hero. In the game, he makes use of a wide range of weapons that include an axe and greatsword. He even has a sword and shield that is able to deliver high-impact physical attacks while at the same time inflict burn effects on enemies. As part of his arrival in the game, his exclusive engraved equipment and sacred treasure called "Divine Axe Rhitta" has been added to the game.

The Sun Rises Again

A new playable hero isn't the only new content added to the game as a result of the update. Players can now enjoy Main Story Act 13, titled as "The Sun Rises Again." This new chapter follows Meliodas and Hawk as they set out to reunite with their allies after realizing that they have been transported into the future and encounter one of the Ten Commandments, Galland.

Galland is a new boss and has the ability to apply a unique Commandment mechanic that periodically imposes restrictions on players. Those who violate these conditions result in petrification and HP reduction. Those who clear the Hell difficulty obtains "Evil Eye of Madness," a material used to craft the Special weapon "Gluttonous Soul Axe."

There's also a new region known as "My Sweet Gluttony." It's located south of Vanya Plains and features unique gatherings, cooking ingredients, and ores that further enrich the open-world exploration experience.

In-game Event

Different in-game events have been launched in celebration of the release of this new update. There's a check-in event which runs until June 13. This one gives players the chance to get their hands on the mount pet "Proud Mustache Hawk," flying pet "Wise Big Hoot," Hero Pick Up Draw Tickets, and more.

Players can also join in a trial event to experience Escanor. When they complete challenges, they get rewards that include Star Fragments, Supreme Mastery EXP, and more. Details of the ongoing events are available on the official website.

Game Improvements

The update also brings with it several improvements to improve the overall gameplay experience. The new Continuous Gathering feature for example allows players to automatically track and move to the next resource node while gathering or mining. In addition, an Engraved Equipment Info Preview function has been added to let players check stats and passive effects before crafting. Finally, players can now also obtain crafting materials by defeating elite and boss monsters in both field and dungeon content.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is available for the PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam along with mobile platforms via Google Play and the App Store. It's based on the popular Japanese manga and anime The Seven Deadly Sins.
