First Public Playtest for Aksun now Live

Developer Wayway announced the first public playtest for Aksun is now live. The test build gives everyone a hands-on look at the game's ritual-based combat, builds that evolve as they play, and the brutal cycle of death, memory, and rebirth.

Aksun is a hack & slash Roguelite that's rooted in Korean shamanic folklore. Players take on the role of an individual who's trapped inside the Casket. This is a cursed sealing device which has been forged to imprison the will of a fallen cult and its monstrous prophet. Every run forces players deeper into a cycle of memory, suffering, and rebirth.

Playtest Build

For the first public playtest, players can look forward to:

• Two fully playable chapters with boss fights.

• Five elemental systems (Fire, Ice, Wind, Earth, Lightning) with chain-reaction synergies.

• Eight Artifacts and two unique Weapon types.

• Awakening and Echo systems for in-depth buildcraft.

• Distorted realms filled with lore rooted in Korean spiritual beliefs.

• The studio reminded everyone that the public playtest is merely the first step and the feedback during the playtest is sure to help shape the game’s future.

Part of a Ritual

In Aksun, death is simply part of a ritual and each victory peels back a layer of truth. As someone trapped inside the Seal of Aksun, players awaken lost weapons, absorb corrupted artifacts, and fight their way through a world that remembers their every attempt. One of the interesting features of the game is that the progression is built on the interaction of three core components. These are:

• Weapons: Bound to Hell Gods, it defines the combat identity and unlock powerful Awakening Skills.

• Artifacts: Crystallized remnants of cult rituals which grant elemental effects, deployable summons, and active chaos.

• Echoes: Synergy-based stat modifiers that tie everything together into unpredictable and layered builds.
