Independent developer Titan Roc announced that Forsaken Realms: Vahrin's Call is now available on Steam. This handcrafted and classless action-RPG is priced at $34.99. As part of the launch, the game is currently being offered at a 10% discount for a limited period.
According to the studio, when they developed the game, they took inspiration from other beloved titles in the same genres like The Elder Scrolls, Fable, Warhammer, and The Lord of the Rings. In a statement, Director Craig Smith shared that they wanted to come up with a war-torn world that was also muddy and brutal. He went on to say that they also wanted this same game to show that humanity, humor, hope can still endure and even thrive.
The release serves as a big milestone for the studio with Forsaken Realms: Vahrin's Call getting more than 200,000 wishlists while at the same time getting positive reviews from critics and playtesters.
The game tells the story of Vale of Vahrin, which is beset by threats from both within and without. However, it means that this serves as the perfect place for a mercenary in search of their next contract. Indeed, the Vale of Vahrin is being infested not only with rival mercenaries and bandits, but also monstrous beasts and even hideous creatures. All of these are more than ready and waiting for their bounties to be claimed.
In particular, the city of Vahrin is being overwhelmed by a swarm of the grotesque and insect-like creatures known as khraiax. Because of this, many of the Free Cities have united under the banner of the Combined Order and sent their armies to confront this terrible threat.
While it is clear that the khraiax has little chance against the might of the combined forces, there is actually a far greater danger rising from under the streets of the city. Making things worse is that Vahrin’s king lies dead as well as the thousands of soldiers who marched to the city’s aid. What remains are the most stalwart defenders who remain desperately fighting to reclaim their beloved home.
