Full Version of Halls of Torment is Launching on September 24

Developer Chasing Carrots revealed that the 1.0 Version of Halls of Torment is all set to be launched this September 24. It's going to be available on Steam and priced at $4.99. However, those who buy the game during the first week of launch can enjoy the 25% discount.

Early Access Milestones

It was back in May 2023 when Halls of Torment was first made available in Steam through Early Access. Since then, the studio shared in a statement that the game has obtained at least 21,500 reviews with an average of 96% positive rate. There are also some interesting figures during the Early Access like the average playtime per user being 20 hours with median playtime at 12 hours. Then there's the conversion rate from wishlists to purchases during the Early Access period which ranged between 50 and 70% with a sales totaling 905,000 copies to date and only 3% of refunds.

New Content in Full Version

Now for those wondering, one of the new contents added for the 1.0 Version is the last main Stage which is The Vault. Here time ticks up and it's up to players to decide how much time they spend on it. Added as well is the Shrine of Torment which offers new challenges. The Shrine has artifacts that once obtained, can modify the game.

Other new additions are:

  • Shorter game modes, more enemies, traps and additional loot.
  • Rescue the Scriptor from the Frozen Depth for unlimited growth.
  • Character can reach new heights with the 5th tier Traits
  • New uncommon item variants and introducing rare variants exclusive for high difficulty levels.
  • Uncommon variants can now be retrieved and offer even more targeted customization for each run.
  • 16:10 and widescreen support arriving, as well as many other QoL features.


Talking about this upcoming release, the studio revealed that they're excited and are looking forward to seeing the reactions of the players to the complete version. The studio went on to say that they've added a lot of late content for seasoned players to enjoy. However, it the studio also took steps to improve the experience for new players.
