Com2uS announced that GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT is set to launch for the PC and consoles. The game is based on the anime Gachiakuta.
This is not the first time the game has been revealed to the public. It had been introduced previously under the working title of GACHIAKUTA: The Game. As part of this announcement, the first ever gameplay trailer has been released and can be viewed here.
The newly released trailer highlights why the title of the game includes “BREAKOUT.” That’s because it shows a journey of pushing beyond limits and forging ahead through danger.
The footage also gives us a look at the key characters that include Rudo, Enjin, Zanka, and Riyo. Each one demonstrates unique weapons and fighting styles. The trailer also shows a boss battle against Jabber where players get to take direct control of Zanka to dodge Jabber's relentless attacks and capitalize on openings. The video shows a combat system that demands quick decision-making and aggressive action.
The studio also revealed that it has launched the official brand website of the game. There they can view the official logo, the first gameplay trailer, and additional information about the game.
The Inspiration
Gachiakuta is an action series that’s centered on Rudo, an orphan boy born in a slum inhabited by the descendants of criminals. It is written by Kei Urana with the graffiti design courtesy of Hideyoshi Andou. The series started serialization in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in February 2022 and won the Shōnen category at the 50th Kodansha Manga Awards in 2026.
Produced by Bones Filmaired, the Gachiakuta TV anime was and streamed for two consecutive cours starting in July 2025. The series received five awards across the Crunchyroll Anime Awards and Japan Expo's Daruma Awards, including Anime of the Year.
The franchise continues to expand through stage and game adaptations, with production of the highly anticipated second season of the anime also confirmed.
GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT is a survival action RPG that’s based on the anime Gachiakuta. It offers cartoon-style visuals and combines it with the anime's distinctive art style along with the dynamic combat featuring its unique cast of characters. The game is currently in development.
GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT is scheduled to be released worldwide in 2027 and to be available for the PC via Steam along with consoles PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S.
