Get a Feel for 90s Gaming with The Tale of Mara & Moa

Cabana Game Studio announced that they're working on a new game titled The Tale of Mara and Moa. This action RPG is inspired by 90s classics and protagonists on a mission to save their village. While there's no release date yet, it's to be made available for the PC via Steam along with consoles PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch.

A Dynamic World

The game invites players into a world that's filled with secrets to explore and dive into. They get to travel across different environments that include tropical rainforests, sunny beaches, and dark swamps. They'll also have to dive into the ruins of a forgotten people. Players need to solve puzzles and enigmas that's been scattered around the island and learn more about the fading past of the island.

Along the way they have to defeat hidden bosses and in return learn new Combat Skills. Players can also look for and find unique Talismans that can change how they play the game. It's also important to note that they have to gather resources to upgrade items. They can also discover cooking ingredients and come up with unique and crazy recipes.

Combat Mechanics

In terms of combat, players can switch between Mara and Moa when fighting different enemies. Aside from learning varied Combat Skills, they also need to have Blessings of the Spirits imbued to their attacks with the powers of the Sun and Moon.

The Inspiration

The story of The Tale of Mara & Moa shines a light on several characters coming from the unique mythologies of Brazil's native peoples. It also brings up several references from other pre-colombian cultures.
