Wise Monkey Entertainment announced that No Stone Unturned has been chosen to be part of the PAX Rising Showcase. This means that the comedy crime caper is going to be playable on the show floor at PAX West from August 29 to September 1.
The PAX Rising Showcase is an intensely curated collection of games that's selected by the PAX Team. From more than a hundred indie games submitted, No Stone Unturned was one of just twelve titles that PAX believes stands out from the crowd when it comes to gameplay, entertainment, and inventiveness. In addition to PAX West, the game is also playable at the Indie Arena Booth at Gamescom in Cologne from August 20 to August 24.
No Stone Unturned offers a murder mystery in the style of Agatha Christie and combines it with the British small town comedy of Hot Fuzz. It features crime-solving minigames and mysteries to solve with players taking on the role of the hardboiled squirrel Detective Cox. The first case has the Detective looking into the death of the chicken and trying to answer the question of "why did the chicken cross the road?"
The thing about the game is that the investigation proceeds a little differently compared to what players may have been accustomed to. To solve the murder, they'll have to go through a series of seemingly pointless yet surprisingly fun mini-games. They need to solve puzzles, analyse crime scenes, and interrogate townsfolk. They'll be bringing with them their trusty Detective Essentials which is composed of a magnifying glass, tape recorder, and crowbar.
As they try to solve the crime, players have to broaden their horizons by repairing bridges and buildings, to name a few. They’ll also have to do other repairs needed in this dilapidating town. Players can also complete item bundles. Doing all of these has players unlock new areas and uncover those essential clues.
A Kickstarter Campaign has been launched for this project. Those who send their support can receive exclusive rewards in return. Check out the campaign here.
No Stone Unturned released on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation in 2026. For the PC version, those interested can now wishlist the game on Steam.
