Halloween: The Game Gives Michael a Buff When Surrounded

Adjustments made to Resident and Special Target discovery.

A new update has been released for Halloween: The Game. One of the interesting changes is that Michael Myers now gets a buff when he's surrounded by multiple targets. The buff scales based on how many targets are nearby.

When surrounded by multiple targets, Michael's Damager, Bloodthirst gain, Damage Resistance, and Status Effects, are all increased. In a post, developer IllFonic revealed that this change was introduced to make sure the Michael becomes even more formidable especially when it comes to group combat encounters.

Resident Discovery

It's not all focused on Michael. The update also improves the flow of gameplay with the introduction of what can be described as substantial adjustments to Resident and Special Target discovery when it comes to Michael and Civilian players. According to the studio, the goal of the changes is to ensure that player discovery is more dynamic while also giving additional time for players to settle into their roles. It should allow for being more organically culminating in climactic mid to late game moments.

Some of the changes include:

  • Resident areas on the map are now shown and uncovered based on player proximity.
  • Every Resident convinced increases a player’s discovery range and also marks a Special Target until everyone is marked.
  • With enough dead or escaped Residents, the Special Targets are marked automatically.

The update also introduces a new map along with a new weapon. Read more about it here. Check out the complete patch notes here.

Halloween: The Game is set on Halloween night in 1978. As the unsuspecting families of the quiet suburban town of Haddonfield are making holiday preparations, evil seems to have made its way home.
